A Whole New Way to Dress Your Salads

Wholesome plant-based fats are revered for their ability to increase satiation and sustained energy, to impart healthy sheen for hair and skin, and to keep our nervous systems humming along healthily.

But even the most wholesome plant oils degrade once extracted from the fruit, seed or nut. To get the freshest infusion of oils in your diet, try these no-added-oil salad dressings, featuring whole ingredients that contain healthy fats.

Avocado Citrus
1 whole avocado
Juice of 2 lemons
¼ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon fresh cilantro

Scoop avocado into a blender. Add the remaining ingredients and blend on high speed until smooth and creamy. Taste for salt and adjust. Add water for a thinner dressing, if desired.

Sesame Ginger
3 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
4–6 tablespoons water

Blend first three ingredients together to form a smooth paste. Add water slowly until dressing reaches liquid consistency.

Cashew Cream Ranch
½ cup raw cashews, soaked for at least 3 hours
¼ cup water
½ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon dried dill
¼ teaspoon salt

Drain the soaked cashews and add them to a blender with all other ingredients. Blend on high until completely creamy and smooth (this may take a minute or two). Add more water for a thinner dressing.
