Anti-inflammatory Ginger & Citrus Smoothie


This Anti-inflammatory Ginger & Citrus Smoothie is an amazing way to wake up your taste buds and digestive system! Ginger and turmeric are well known for their anti-inflammatory properties, and this smoothie combines them with fresh oranges (full of vitamin C), cashews for a bit of protein and healthy fats, and cayenne to increase absorption of nutrients. Swap this smoothie for your morning glass of orange juice, and your body will thank you.

Ingredients

1 medium banana
2 medium oranges, peeled
½-inch knob of fresh ginger
¼ teaspoon ground turmeric
1 teaspoon Natural Calm, Lemon flavor (optional)
2 tablespoons cashews
½ cup water
½ cup ice
Cayenne pepper

Directions

  1. Add banana, oranges, ginger, turmeric, Natural Calm (if using), cashews, water and ice to a blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Top with a dash of cayenne pepper.
  3. Enjoy immediately.
